Dear Family & Friends,

Mom does not know anything about this ,so when you hear a loud scream from Utah you will know that she has found the link on Facebook. 
For those of you who do not know, dad was diagnosed with late stages of leukemia in November.  He has been on chemo and taking shots to help his body produce red blood cells.  He's been in the hospital twice and it seems like every time he has a chemo treatment he gets a serious infection.  Between the chemo and the shots he has felt like he has the flu on a daily basis.  He has to go to the hospital every day for blood work, chemo, shot, or transfusion.  Mom has been by his side the entire time.  She is now out of sick leave and vacation hours and has applied for Family Medical Leave.  While on FML she will have to pay for insurance, COBRA, medications and all without a pay check.  Dad has decided that he no longer wants to take the painful shots or chemo treatments.  He has agreed to have the blood transfusions as long as his body will accept it.  He has some intermediate care, the step right before Hospice, so mom has a little help during the day. 

Many people have been asking me what they can do to help and I thought this would be a great way.  Mom will have a fit, but I'll just tell her Lisa, Jill and Mark set this up.  Dad is a wonderful man.  Not many men would take three step-children and raise them as if they were his own.  He will turn 90 years old on April 6th and we are all excited to celebrate with him.   

I can guarantee you that any donations will go directly to dad and his medical care.  I can't tell you how appreciative the family is for all the thoughts, prayers, visits, cards and phone calls mom and dad have received.  Your thoughtfulness and donations, if you choose, are appreciated beyond measure.  Thank you.   Lindy   AKA  Lisa, Jill & Mark
