Bring baby Reign home

Tyra was taken Maui Memorial Hospital in the late afternoon of february 20th after experiencing severe pain in her abdomen. Once there, the medical staff learned that Tyra was dialated 3cm and was classified as being "in pre-term labor". However, Maui does not have a NICU, so the doctors had Sean and Tyra air lifted to Kapiolani Medical Center on the island of Oahu.

Once on Oahu, the doctors were able to slow her contractions, but by the next morning Tyra had dialated to 8cm. The baby had breached and Tyra had to have an emergency cesarian section. Due to complications, Tyra was hospitalized for two weeks.

Reign Bennett was born at 10:36am on February 21st and was immediately taken to the NICU. Baby Reign was born 16 weeks premature and has to stay in the NICU for 3 months. As a micro-preemie, she faces many health issues and each day is a struggle for her to breathe and to digest milk. The road to her discharge is long and challenging.

In order to support their daughter, Tyra and Sean have to leave the lives they built on Maui, including their jobs and home. After Reign is discharged Tyra and Sean are hoping to move back to California to be with family and close to a good pediatric hospital.
