Help Stéphanie get through the storm (of leukemia)

Donation protected
Stephanie's Story...

"I would have never imagined that such a thing would happen to me... but here it is:

After several months of increasing fatigue, exams, and hospitalization at the end of January because my hemoglobin, platelet, and certain white blood cell levels were dropping, the words were delivered on February 21st after receiving the results of my bone marrow analysis: acute myeloid leukemia (If you are curious to know more about this leukemia, click here).

It is a leukemia that requires very rapid management to optimize the chances of recovery: there is no time to lose.

I must be "evacuated" (a funny term!) to France, making a stop at the University Hospital of Guadeloupe on Monday, February 26th, to be taken care of at the Gustave Roussy Institute in Villejuif, near Paris. This institute is the largest in Europe concerning research and treatments for all forms of cancer. It apparently also ranks as the 4th best hospital in the world in this specialty... It's probably a chance for me to be sent there, but...

It's like the sky is falling on me!

• Emergency departure for several months (apparently 3 or 4) on the other side of the Atlantic

• Leaving my daughter alone, who is taking her exams in June at home in St Martin (you can imagine my heartbreak and worry!)

• Canceling internships that were organized long ago

• And all this to undergo a heavy treatment (chemotherapy, confined in a sterile room) that will not allow me the leisure to work in any way...

This was really not what I had in mind for the coming months!

I find myself in a very uncomfortable situation: having to ask for help because without income for several months (and no savings!), I am unable to:

Face the expenses of daily life, which continue despite everything (rent, electricity, water, insurance, etc.)

Provide for the needs of my daughter, who depends on me: I want to make sure she has what she needs; this is already going to be emotionally challenging, and she needs to focus on her exams. I will also add providing for the needs of my cats, my companions who will be greatly missed...

Undertake other modalities of care (physical, emotional, spiritual) parallel to chemotherapy to support and accelerate my recovery.

Those who know me know that I don't attribute what is happening to me here to bad luck, and it is important for me to delve into the psychological aspect to rid myself of the roots of this condition. I have several avenues at the moment, such as considering reaching out to Scott Kiloby, who does extraordinary work on emotional repression, as well as exploring Chinese medicine, aromatherapy to support me during chemotherapy, etc.

Many friends have suggested setting up this fund so that those who wish can support me in this storm that I have no choice but to go through.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the help you can provide to support me (us!). At the moment, I have nothing to offer you in return except my deep gratitude ❤️.

Being reassured about this essential material aspect, I can concentrate all my strength on my recovery.

PS: If you think that some people you know might want to participate in this fund, please do not hesitate to share the link with them!

Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your help."

"Stephanie is one of my closest and most trusted friends, colleagues and personal allies. She has spent much of her life committed to helping people heal, grow and transform. Now it is our turn to support her. We've established this USA based fundraiser to help provide some financial support at this time so she can focus on the journey and recovery ahead. All funds go directly to her in France where she is receiving treatment. Please offer what you can. Thank you." - Jeffrey Warren

*Please note: though this fundraiser has been established in the USA, your donation amount is offered in Euros since the funds go directly to Stephanies bank in France.

The current conversion rate between the two is minimal.

As of February 29, 2024: 1 Euro = 1.08 USD
