Medical/Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
My wife Annalisa as well as her sisters, Angela and Julie, along with our niece Kayla hopped several planes to get from Los Angeles to Manila to Bacolod in the Phillipines. The cause was that my wife's father Hector had had pneumonia, which then lead to a heart attack a day later while in recovery. Not knowing if he would be okay or not, they dropped everything and journeyed across the Pacific to see and support him in his time of need.

Upon their arrival, things were looking up as he was taken off a ventilator and placed onto an oxygen tank. He was seemingly on the mend, making plans to show his daughters and granddaughter around his favorite locales, but then tragedy struck. On the day he was supposed to be discharged, he passed in his sleep from an aftershock-like heart attack.

Like most retirees, money was not something that was plentiful for Hector and his wife, Ging,  who is also disabled with severe arthritis and has been taking care of him. In order to get him a bed and care, she liquidated her investments to pay for the hospital, but it was not enough. He had quickly racked up $5,000 in bills, which had to be paid upon his release. Now that financial sum is what we need to obtain his remains. After that is all taken care of, additional money is needed to pay for funeral arrangements as well as his eventual cremation.

Annalisa's dad has been a constant source of emotional support for the family. My wife often reminisces about childhood Sunday mornings, where he'd make breakfast with Johnny Cash or Elvis blaring from the radio, and she'd wear little cowboy boots while helping him around the kitchen. Lisa, Angela, and Julie all have memories like that. He was their only remaining parent after their mother Josie passed away from breast cancer years ago. As someone's child, we all know that this is an eventuality, but that doesn't soften the blow or make it any easier. Even though he was all the way on the other side of the world, he was still a phone call, email, or Facebook message away. Now, he can only be with them in spirit. Now they only have these memories as a source of comfort.

To pay their respects and mourn properly, my wife and her sisters need to help their extended family pay for everything, so we're turning to our other family, friends, and even complete strangers to get this done as quickly as possible. Every dollar helps, so whatever you can give is appreciated and will help them achieve the kind of closure that comes from being able to honor their late father's wishes.

Angela will be handling everything on the financial side while they're still overseas, but I'll be handling this campaign to help on my end.

Thanks ahead of time and know that the Passman, Brizuela, and Infante families appreciate whatever you can do.
