Becoming an Ironman isn't cheap!

For as long as I can remember I would fantasize and dream about what being in the Ironman championship race in Hawaii would be like. Now I'm beginning to get a taste of what it takes to make that dream a reality. I won't ever make it to Hawaii but I will be participating in the Florida Ironman 140.6 mile race on November 1st. I am willing to put forth all my efforts, physically and mentally into crossing that finish line. Unfortunately, the financial burden is begining to sidetrack my training and its only begun. I estimate that the costs over the next 7 months until the race will be upwards of around $4000 to $5000. The entry fee alone was $750. Additional expenses include travel, hotel, food, training equipment, supplements, gear, and coaching fees.
I have an amazing family that supports me to the fullest however most of my time and all my extra money goes to my dream of completing this race at their expense. I am looking to raise funds to assist my Ironman costs and relieve some of the burden it is placing on the ones who support me the most, my family. Any contributions made will go directly to the funding of my training needs, 100%. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated and put to good use. It also will motivate me that much more to do the best that I possibly can for myself and all of the friends and family that are helping me achieve this dream. All of the 12 to 14 hour a week workout schedules will be worth every drop of blood and sweat when, as I cross the finish line, I hear the words " Wayne Wheeler, You are an Ironman".
