Send Alec to Burkina Faso w/ Collab team

Friends and Family,

     Please help me in fundraising $3,200 for a missions trip to Burkina Faso in Western Africa this May-June. I have the opportunity to travel to Burkina Faso this summer with the Messiah College Collaboratory to aid in energy management for rural hospitals and missionary compounds. The Collaboratory is an organization of students, educators, and professionals affiliated with Messiah College. We are Christians who aspire to obey the instructions of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to love neighbors as ourselves and to share his Gospel. As God enables us to serve others today, we seek to grow as disciples of Jesus, serve as God's stewards over the resources of our academic disciplines, and bear witness to the good news of the Kingdom of God.

     The rural parts of Burkina Faso are being left behind in the development of their infrastructure, energy and healthcare from the rest of this beautiful but struggling Western Africa Nation. The missionary compound in Mahadaga, where we will be working out of, and many other missionary compounds containing hospitals around rural Burkina Faso have turned to solar power in order to combat the energy crisis they face. With your help, our site team will be able to install energy management systems that are fundamental in delegating energy to necessary locations such as hospitals and food storage units. These are vital entities for the wellbeing, health and existence for the individual and isolated rural Burkina Faso communities. Without the energy management systems hospitals will not have power for emergency services. Foods, vaccines and other necessary assets to these communities will spoil and the communities will simply live in darkness.

The objectives of our journey are:
     - Installing the energy management systems necessary for the survival and future existence of the isolated African communities
     - Research possible economic development and expansion for the communities in order to greater expand our area of reach and influence so that we can positively affect more and more lives
     - Ultimately witness for God's glory and word through our actions and work ethic as well as our daily and intimate interactions with our brothers and sisters in this region of Western Africa

     These objectives cannot be accomplished without a collective effort from all of us. Let's take an active stand together in progressing and strengthening God's kingdom. Any donation of any size will truly be a help and a step forward not just for this trip but for the improvement and wellbeing of the numerous rural communities in Burkina Faso.
