The Gardner Family

Hi, my name is Kelly Robel and I am asking for help for my co-worker, PJ Gardner. PJ's 5-year-old son, Jayce, was found unresponsive yesterday morning and was rushed to the hospital in Wilmington, NC. After evaluation, he was air-lifted to the children's hospital in Chapel Hill.

Jayce has bleeding on his brain and elevated cranial pressure. The hospital has been unable to determine a cause. About an hour ago, Jayce was taken to emergency surgery to relieve the pressure on his brain and save his life. It is unknown whether or not he has sustained any permanent damage or how long his recovery will take. We are hopeful that Jayce will recover fully, but he has a long road ahead of him.

First and foremost, we are asking for prayer for Jayce and his family. We ask that God strengthen them for the road ahead, comfort them in their grief, and fully heal Jayce's body. Please also pray for the medical team that is treating him. Pray they can discern the cause of the bleeding and how it can best be treated/prevented.
