Help kick Meegan's MS once and for all!

UPDATE:
Meegan has been accepted into the HSCT program for October 2015! Now more than ever we need your help to spread the word and help us raise the money needed to get Meegan this life-saving treatment!
Thank you so very much to everyone that has donated or helped spread awareness of this page around their networks. We really really appreciate your support.

Meegan Malouf is a Mum of 5, wife to her wonderful hubby and she is living with one of the cruelest of diseases, Multiple Sclerosis. Diagnosed in 2007, she and her family have lived with the cruel effects of this disease, and ironically, its treatments, for 7 years, and enough is enough.

Despite current practice in Australia, there is hope for this disease to be kicked to the kerb. It's not a cure, but it's as close to one as we can get for MS. It's an autologous haemopoeitic stem cell transplant and involves a regime or aggressive chemotherapy, usually reserved for cancer sufferers, followed by a transplant of her own stem cells that are harvested prior to the chemo.

This procedure is not without its risks, but they are risks Meegan and her family are prepared to take in comparison to the much higher and more real risks of her physical and cognitive deterioration.

There is one clinical trial in Sydney that we are desperately hoping she will be accepted for, though at the moment it looks a bit dicey because the research has no current funding. Meegan's only other option is to go overseas to have this risky procedure, and it doesn't come cheap. She needs in excess of $100,000 to cover travel, accommodation and medical expenses. This fundraising effort is to get her there. If she qualifies for the Sydney trial, any money raised will be used for out of pocket expenses associated with an extended hospital stay many hundreds of kilometres from her family and the excess donated to multiple sclerosis research.
We, her friends and family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your donation, no matter it's size. Every little bit counts.
