Support Vanessa, 33yr, very rare Ovarian Cancer
Donation protected
Almost three years ago, Vanessa Vieira moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, following her husband who was admitted to a PhD at the University of Michigan. A year ago, Vanessa began to work in a great Montessori school as a teaching assistant - where she is adored by fellow employees, kids and parents alike. Vanessa has many friends, and the kindest smile!
Unfortunately, at the age 33, Vanessa was diagnosed two weeks ago, on January 25th, with a large 12x11cm tumor in the right ovary and with her body full of tumor-induced ascites. Four days later, she was brought to the ER in severe pain and with her abdomen extra-inflated - the tumor had grown and the ascites had expanded really fast. An urgent surgery was performed in the following day, on January 30th, when the tumor and 6.5 liters of ascites were removed from her body.
Yesterday, on February 7th, Vanessa's diagnosis was announced to be a Stage-3 Endodermal Sinus Tumor, a very rare type of cancer. Thankfully, it is a potentially curable cancer, and she is scheduled to start chemotherapy next week, on February 14th. However, it will be a long and expensive fight for the young couple.
We ask for your donation to help defray part of the unexpected expenses they will now have to endure. Insurance appointments/ER co-pays are quickly adding up, as well as expenses with medication and treatment logistics - and many more bills are expected to come. Besides, Vanessa not being able to work nearly halved the income of the young student couple, needed for their household expenses.
Let's help make their fight a little lighter on their shoulders.
Thanks for your support, good vibes and prayers!
