In July our world was turned upside down after our mother was diagnosed with stage IV liver cancer that has metastasized to her bones.
Since then, she has been receiving intense chemotherapy treatments at Soin Medical Center in Dayton. After months of numerous treatments and countless hospital stays, her cancer isn't budging and it is time to explore other options.
We are looking to relocate her to Ohio State James Cancer Hospital. We are hopeful that their internationally renowned team of cancer specialists will be able to deliver the most effective cancer treatment.
A cancer diagnosis is not the end; it is the beginning. It is the beginning of a fight more important than any other fight. Our mother has always been a fighter. Full of grace and faith, she has been bearing the unbearable these past four months. While the cancer is a battle in itself; the financial burden has been just as mentally and physically draining on her. Unfortunately, she is private pay and since her liver isn't filtering correctly, all her medications are specially formulated and extremely expensive.
We have started this campaign to help our mother set the financial burden aside so she can solely focus on fighting the cancer. We are asking for help. Whether it is in prayer, reaching out, or helping offset the cost associated with this diagnosis. --"Even the smallest act of caring for another person is like a drop of water -it will make ripples throughout the entire pond."
