Kindness for Kim

This is a tough one to write, as all of those who know, love, and are close to Kim, her boys, Brian, family and friends are still trying to process this information.

Late yesterday afternoon Kim admitted herself into the ER during her shift complaining of dizziness and a chronic headache. She received a CAT scan and an MRI. Her results came back positive for metastasis in the brain, specifically her cerebellum as well as her lungs. Cancer, the original source yet to be determined. Kim is a lover of life, a mother to two beautiful boys who are the centre of her world, a caring partner and an RN who has served our Campbell River residents for many years with great pride and joy. Kim is en route as I write this via ambulance to Victoria to meet her neurosurgeon  The plan is to take a biopsy of the brain and lung as well as have  an emergency brain surgery to have the tumor removed that has put pressure on her ventrical. There is a long road of recovery and travel ahead for my dear friend. During this stressful and emotional time  I simply would love to help her, her boys, and her partner out with the many expenses that are about to come there way. They are looking at a long road of possible chemo and radiation. With Kim being the primary income source travel, accommodations, etc will put a definite financial burden on the family. Anything helps, big or small  If you cannot financially donate I simply ask that you share this with your friends and family. All my love and I will keep everyone updated as best as I can.
