"‹Hello my name is Ondina Alfaro and I am currently a Migrant student, with a GPA of 4.53 at Mendota High School (Mendota, California). I am honored to have been accepted to Brown University’s Pre-College Environmental Leadership Program. This program will focus on conservation and sustainability and will take place in Costa Rica. I am overwhelmingly excited by the opportunity to study in Costa Rica. However, the program fees ($7,477) are too expensive for my parents to afford.
"‹I applied for the Dean’s Scholarship for Global Programs through Brown University, unfortunately, those funds were exhausted. Nevertheless, I am determined to attend this program as I feel it will be a life-changing experience that will expose me to global environmental issues. Studying in Costa Rica will further develop my leadership and communication skills for my future career. This program will also move me one step closer to achieving my goal of attending Brown University and studying to become a Pediatrician. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I hope to make a reality. Therefore, I am humbly asking for any assistance towards this investment in my future.
