I am raising funds to compete in the 2014 Transplant Games of America and I need your help!
The Transplant Games of America is an Olympic type competition for people who either had an organ, tissue, or bone marrow transplant or been a living donor. this year the games will be held from July 11-15 in Houston, Texas. any donation made will help with everything from registration and travel fees to equipment. this will be my first year competing in the games and i'm planning on entering the shot put and discus events.
As many of you may know I received a kidney transplant in 2008 from my mother, which, has since failed and I am now back on dialysis and the UNOS waiting list. The majority of my time is now spent waiting on my phone to ring in hopes that a new healthy kidney is on the other side of the call and little else. I see the opportunity to compete in these games as a way to not only take my mind off of the stress of waiting but also restore myself to my somewhat glory days of being a competitive athlete.
Any donation you make would be a huge help in aiding me in achieving my goals of not only going to Houston to compete but bringing home some hardware.
