Surgery for Iskandar's Heart

The Money raised will go to Iskandar and his family to help cover his medical cost and cost affiliated from his quickly deteriorating heart condition. He suffers from severe shortness of breath and chest pain every night, and now during the day as well. He can rarely get any sleep because of the pain. He has seen a doctor in his home town and has been advised to get surgery immediately. A surgery which he, and his family could never afford.
When I was only 6 weeks old my family moved to Indonesia for my Dads work. Before my mother, brother and I made the move, my Dad hired a driver, named Iskandar. From the very beginning my Dad appreciated the responsibility and strong work ethic of Iskandar. Iskandar soon began taking on a much larger role than just being the driver, he eventually took on a management role for my Dad.
Once my brother and I started our early school years, and having left and come back to Indonesia in the mid 90's Iskandar became our confidante, protector, driver and best friend. Everywhere we would go my brother and I had Iskandar with us. He welcomed us into his life as his own and showed us love that was truly unforgettable.
The ties we created with Iskandar were so strong; our family became very intertwined with this loving and caring man. In the late 1990's we flew Iskandar from Indonesia to visit us in Canada, so he could see what our home country was like. With such a passion for life he became friends with people everywhere he went, leaving behind smiles and good memories.
Just 2 years ago, 19 years after first arriving in Indonesia as a 6-week-old infant, I was privileged to be able to travel back to Bangka Island, Indonesia and visit Iskandar and his family. It was such an amazing experience visiting Iskandar, after having spent so many years apart. He welcomed my brother and I into his home, and took care us like we were a part of his own family, all while having very little himself. It was a very touching and memorable experience to stay in his home and to see how important and how much of an impact my family was to his life and his family, which consists of his wife, and three children.
The impact Iskandar has had in my life will never be forgotten and the good he gives this world will never be enough. The money raised here will be used for Iskandar to travel to Jakarta, Indonesia's capital city, for a critical life saving procedure, medication expenses, and help his family pay for bills. As Iskandar is unable to work during this time, where he earns an honest living running his own construction company in Indonesia, and has no insurance, and no public health care to assist him.
Please help us raise enough money so that Iskandar can get this life saving surgery, so he can continue to provide for his family, and give his love to the world.
