Karmas medical bills

Karma was rescued from San Diego, TX. A rural shelter with little hope of getting out. But thanks to an amazing woman, she was, last week. Karma was brought to a boarder and vet in Baton Rouge, and today she was scheduled to be spayed, get her shots and any other medical care. Unfortunately, she was unable to have surgery because after initial evaluation she was determined to be VERY sick. She has severe anemia, low platelet count, an enlarged spleen, she is heart worm positive, plus hookworms. And that’s just what we know as of now. She also started bleeding after her vaccines and chip placement.

The vet also suspects that she has a serious infection causing pain.

She has been started on steroids, antibiotics, and other meds to save this babies life.

She is receiving excellent, around the clock care and we are so gray tile that she is out of the shelter and getting the needed attention she desperately needs.

The vet has given our adopter the hard news and recommended that Karma go to a rescue, capable of helping her recover from her physical and emotional wounds.

We are all heartbroken about this phase of the rescue but also realize this is part of rescuing, sometimes.

That being said, we want to make sure that Karma has all the needed medical attention she needs prior to her next phase. We are trying to raise $5000 to cover all her bills. IF her medical bills do not add up to the total raised, the remaining money will go with Karma and her rehab.
