Dear friends and family,
As many of you know, I have experienced a very challenging time of illness these past 22 months. What initially we were told was a serious virus, has turned out to be a systemic infection of Lyme disease. The infection has seriously damaged my neuroendocrine system, affecting many aspects of my health. After an initial 3 months of being bedridden, I began to regain some strength and started working from home part-time at 3-10 hours a week. Since then I have continued walking my road to recovery, slowly gaining strength; and am now working about 15-20 hours a week.
This has been an intense physical and emotional battle for me and as you can imagine, a huge financial struggle for our family. Our medical bills and debt are ever increasing.
I am tremendously grateful for the progress I have made, however, I still have a long way to go. We have felt led to seek the care of two well recognized Lyme specialists in New York. We hope they will be able to further my recovery and complete my healing. That's where you come in! Since these specialists are out-of-network, many therapies and tests they have recommended are not covered by our health insurance. Sadly, this scenario is very common in the Lyme community.
Many of you have asked "˜what can I do; how can I help?' and this is how! Our fundraising goal amount will cover the expected costs of the care provided by the two Lyme specialists. Help fund this next step in my path back to health. Together, we will see a mighty victory over this terrible disease, and witness the faithfulness of our Creator to restore all that has been lost.
