Walking by Faith Not by Sight

Bethlehem A.M.E. Church is located in Langhorne, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Its history goes back to 1806, when African-American Methodists (in alliance with White Methodists), formed the Methodist Society. The society included faith centers in Bucks, Lehigh, and Northampton Counties. The African-American members eventually separated in 1809 and formed the Colored Methodist Society of Attleboro. This society merged with Richard Allen, founder of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and changed its name to Bethlehem A.M.E. Church in 1817. Bethlehem has a rich history. It is the oldest deeded house of worship established by people of color in Bucks County and was a part of the Underground Railroad.

Throughout Bethlehem's 211-year history, additions and improvements have been made to the church structure by faithful members who have dedicated their time and money to upkeep and honor God's house. But, there have been obstacles in affording all of those costs. Because Bethlehem A.M.E. Church is a member of the local historic society, repairs are very costly and keeping up with them is a struggle. The original doors of the church, which date back to 1809, are in need of repair. The estimated cost is $8,150.00 We are reaching out in hopes that you will consider donating to our fundraiser to help sustain our needs as we move forward with completing our renovation projects for the church. Thank you for your time and consideration. God Bless You.
