Help Joshua walk again!
For those who know our story, we are hopeful and with great faith that Joshua will walk again! We never gave up and we will never give up, because we have a promise from God that the miracle will be complete in our son's life.
We are grateful for every prayer made and every word of affection received; we are grateful for all the people who helped financially while we were in the hospital with Joshua. We are grateful to this day, as we know that many people continue to pray and hope that the day of the miracle in Joshua's life will come soon.
For those who don't know, I tell the story of our beloved son Joshua Viellas below. It was 2016 and we didn't imagine that we would live the worst year of our lives. I took Joshua to the hospital because he was having fevers and complaining of pain in his legs, the first opinion said it was just a virus, however, the high fever persisted for days and the pain in the legs made my son suffer a lot. New tests were carried out, so Joshua, our 7-year-old son, was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. Already hospitalized and medicated, Joshua still felt intense pain, and could not breathe without the help of oxygen so, after a medical consensus, they decided to submit him to an induced coma that lasted 40 days. During the time of the coma he suffered a stroke twice and contracted an infection in the T2 vertebra. This inflammation left him with no movement from the chest down. After being taken out of the induced coma, he spent two more months in the rehabilitation hospital, since then we have lived, together with our Joshua, a long journey of miracles, despite the various medical diagnoses we heard, even that, if he woke up from the coma, wouldn't breathe on its own. It's 2022 and here we are, collecting miracles and breaking diagnoses. Today, Joshua breathes on his own without the aid of any device, he has full control of his upper body and speaks two languages fluently. Anyone who knows him personally knows the happy child he is, in fact, the happy teenager who lets the faith and hope flow from his heart that one day he will walk again!
In addition to daily physical therapy, we have been praying and looking for resources in medicine for this miracle to happen. Among our research we found a stem cell treatment (STEM CELLS) that can reduce the inflammation that Joshua still has in the T2 spinal cord vertebra. Because the treatment is still in an experimental phase, we were advised, by the doctors themselves, to seek treatment in another country. We finally found here, in Texas, a neurosurgeon who agreed to undergo the treatment. The procedure involves three different ways of injecting the stem cells into his body, for which we need to pay the sum of $26,000. After this phase, Joshua will need 40 sessions of hyperbaric chamber which costs about $9,000. Unfortunately, these are techniques that the health plan does not cover.
There are financial challenges, but there is also hope in a God who has always been with us - we believe that now will not be different!
Talking with our pastors, some family members and friends, we decided to carry out this movement so that people can help us financially and also in prayers. We are planning to take him for treatment in the second week of May. Pray for Joshua and also for us! Pray that this treatment will bring the desired results and so dreamed of by everyone, especially Joshua! Pray that God will meet all our needs!

Para os que conhecem a nossa história, estamos esperançosos e com muita Fé de que o Joshua andará novamente! Nós nunca desistimos e não iremos desistir jamais, pois temos uma promessa de Deus de que o milagre será completo na vida do nosso filho .
Somos gratos a cada oração realizada e a cada palavra de carinho recebida; somos gratos por todas as pessoas que ajudaram financeiramente durante o tempo em que permanecemos no hospital com o Joshua. Somos gratos até hoje, pois sabemos que várias pessoas continuam orando e torcendo para que o dia do milagre na vida do Joshua chegue logo.
Para os que não conhecem, conto abaixo a história do nosso tão amado filho, Joshua Viellas. Era 2016 e não imaginávamos que iríamos viver o pior ano da nossa vida. Levei Joshua ao hospital porque ele estava tendo febres e reclamava de dor nas pernas, a primeira opinião dizia que era apenas uma virose, porém, a febre alta persistia por dias e a dor nas pernas fazia meu filho sofrer muito. Novos exames foram realizados, então Joshua, nosso filho de apenas 7 anos foi diagnosticado com meningite bacteriana. Já internado e medicado, Joshua ainda sentia dores intensas, e nao conseguia respirar sem ajuda de oxigenio então, após um consenso médico, decidiram submetê-lo ao coma induzido que durou 40 dias. Durante o tempo do coma ele sofreu derrame cerebral por duas vezes (AVC - acidente vascular cerebral)e contraiu uma infecção na vértebra T2. Esta inflamação o deixou sem movimentos do peito para baixo. Após ser retirado do coma induzido permaneceu mais dois meses no hospital de reabilitação, desde então vivemos, junto com o nosso Joshua, uma longa jornada de milagres, apesar dos vários diagnósticos médicos que ouvimos, até mesmo de que, se ele acordasse do coma, não iria respirar por conta própria. É 2022 e aqui estamos nós, colecionando milagres e quebrando os diagnósticos. Hoje, Joshua respira sozinho sem a ajuda de nenhum aparelho, ele tem controle total do tronco e fala fluentemente dois idiomas. Quem o conhece pessoalmente sabe a criança alegre que ele é, aliás, o adolescente alegre que deixa fluir do seu coração a fé e a esperança de que um dia andará novamente!
Além das fisioterapias diárias, temos orado e procurado recursos na medicina para que esse milagre aconteça. Dentre nossas pesquisas encontramos um tratamento com células tronco (STEM CELLS) que pode reduzir a inflamação que o Joshua ainda tem na vértebra T2. Pelo fato do tratamento ainda estar em fase experimental fomos aconselhados, pelos próprios médicos, a buscarmos o tratamento em outro país. Finalmente encontramos aqui, no Texas, uma médica neurocirurgiã que aceitou realizar o tratamento. O procedimento envolve três formas diferentes de injetar as células troncos no corpo dele, para isso acontecer precisamos pagar o valor de U$26.000. Passada essa fase, o Joshua precisará de 40 sessões de hyperbaric chamber que custa mais ou menos U$9.000. Infelizmente, são técnicas que o plano de saúde não cobre.
Existem os desafios financeiros, mas também existe a esperança em um Deus que sempre esteve conosco - cremos que agora não será diferente!
Conversando com nossos pastores, alguns familiares e amigos, decidimos realizar esse movimento para que as pessoas possam nos ajudar financeiramente e também em orações. Estamos planejando levá-lo para realizar o tratamento na segunda semana do mês de maio. Orem pelo Joshua e também por nós! Orem para que esse tratamento traga o resultado desejado e tão sonhado por todos, principalmente pelo Joshua! Orem para que Deus supra todas as nossas necessidades!
