Plant a Tree in Memory of John Larsen
Donation protected
John Larsen, a Carthage graduate, passed away on July 24, 2019 in his hometown of Sioux Falls, SD. He graduated in December 2018 with degrees in Environment Science and Geography and Earth Science. Despite studying the sciences, John was probably best known for his involvement in music playing with the Carthage Wind Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, and Drumline among helping out in other ensembles as needed. John was a talented, dedicated percussionist who surely wowed many with his impressive marimba solos throughout his time at Carthage.
Those of us who played alongside John would like to honor his memory by planting a tree on Carthage's campus. We think this would be a lasting way to remember our friend while also paying homage to John's love of nature and his ability to identify any tree. A $1,000 gift to the Carthage Fund will allow us to plant a new tree, growing the campus arboretum, and creating a meaningful symbol of John's life.
