Chris` Cancer War

Donation protected
Chris was diagnosed December 2014 aged 13 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.
His Mum Elaine and Dad Robert saw blood spots on his ankles and rushed him to A&E fearing meningitis, although it wasn’t meningitis, sadly their fears were soon confirmed and they were told their precious boy has cancer.
Their family life as they knew it shattered.

Chris has been robbed of his teenage years in the same way other young lads get to grow into young men.

Let’s imagine a long, drawn out boxing match where you fight your opponent and only the winner will live.

Chris has been bravely fighting this horrendous disease for 5 years of his life.
There have been times he was floored but has got back up.
After 3 relapses, Chris is now about to have a bone marrow transplant and both he and his body are facing the toughest round yet!

After 5 years of extra costs, Chris and his parents have depleted all their savings. Robert drives a lorry and spends his days full of worry, knowing he can’t be there for all the appointments as he has to support his family financially.

To make things worse Robert’s Mum is also terminally ill with prognosis of around just 3 months to live and his Dad has just been diagnosed with LBD.
Chris also has two sisters who are both broken yet still put on a brave face and support their brother in every way they can.

Elaine is about to sit by her son’s bedside in hospital for 6-8 weeks in isolation as Chris will have no immune system. It’s like being in a nightmare bubble but this is also incredibly expensive as she will be relying on food at the hospital canteen as well as all their household bills.
They are worrying as they don’t know how they can do this!

This family is exhausted and desperately needs help to get through this.
We are asking for your help so they don’t lose their home and get behind with their bills, so the family can visit Chris and Elaine without worrying about additional travel costs, so Elaine can eat without worrying about the extra expenses.
It would also be good to have a little extra for a few treats for Chris such as some DVD’s to watch or games to play.

There are less pressures in life that break people. Let’s at least show that human kindness is behind them, to give that helping hand at the most crucial time in their lives.
