You never know when life can change in a flash. Kirk is a hard worker and has worked at Walgreen's for 14 years. His sense of humor and personality never goes unnoticed. His family and friends mean the world to him and Kirk is always used to taking care of everyone else. Now Kirk has to take a step back and allow Michelle, his loving Mother and Siblings to take care of him. Kirk was having some issues with headaches and what they thought was depression and acute stress. Bad Axe hospital diagnosed him with just that. Michelle his fiance' thought it would be best for him to take a small vacation away from home and work to be with his family here in Ypsilanti at his Mom's and with his brother's 5/24/18 they came to town. Friday he was walking the yard and begin to stumble and fell to the ground. Family rushed him to St. Joseph Hospital there he had a MRI  and cat scan. Doctors came in to let them know that Kirk had a very large tumor on his left side of his brain. They said he needed to be taken by ambulance over to U of M. When he arrived they let the family know he needed emergency surgery to remove this tumor on the left side of the brain it was killing him. Kirk went in for surgery and was in surgery for 10.5 hours. Doctors came out to let the family know he did well, However they weren't able to remove all of it. Frontal lobe tumor was so large and putting pressure on his brain there was no other options.  Kirk got 54 staples that will be removed June 18th. This said Tumor is a grade 3/4 aggressive and cancerous. Although Kirk is up moving around, and doing daily activity as he can. This is far from over. Kirk has physically therapy 2 times a week.  He is starting radiation and will have to have chemotherapy and possibly clinical treatment. Many appointments they are facing. Kirk has lived in Bad Axe for many years and has to walk away from his home and the bulk of their belongings. Although Kirk and Michelle aren't allowing the move and leaving the material things behind get to them we all know it's hard to give up your own home, your things your worked hard  your whole life to get. However nothing is more important then life and his health. Kirk has Michelle, Mom and Big Brother Rex there to help him with everyday care. I am sure many others.  Kirk now has no income, Michelle is disabled and only gets disability. They have prescriptions, Doctor visits, Relocation cost just to get the bare minimum here clothes, personal belongings and sentimental things. His medical care alone will be costly and they can use all the help they can get. So Family, Friends and loved ones. I know times are hard for everyone but anything will help and PLEASE most important lift them up in your prayers. We know the maker of the storm, We will stand in faith and Trust in God for a complete RECOVERY!
