Ally’s Life Journey

This family really needs our prayers. Please pray and donate if you are able. If you cannot donate, please share.

Allison has been facing challenges since before her birth. She was diagnosed with a ‘Double Bubble’ and low heart rate before birth.  Her mom, Heather, had a very complicated pregnancy.  She entered the hospital in late November 2017 with plans to stay until Allison’s due date, January 22, 2018. However, Allison was delivered by emergency c-section December 2, 2017. She weighed almost 4 pounds, but the doctor’s soon realized that Allison had many more health challenges than what was known before. Allison was born with multiple  heart defects, no spleen, and multiple organs in the wrong place. She underwent several surgeries during the first few weeks of her life.  Then, Allison was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a liver condition that is fatal without intervention. An emergency surgery was performed, but doctors had little hope for her survival. But, Allison made it through the surgery and actually improved and was able to come home after 156 days in the NICU. Allison has continued to face challenges in her 2 years of life. She is not able to be around other children because she has no immune system, has a button feeding tube to take her medications, has low oxygen levels because of her severe heart defect, and only weighs 17 pounds.  On her last visit to her cardiologist, it was determined that the major heart surgery that doctor’s thought could wait until the age of 4 or 5 needs to be done in the next few months. If she does not gain weight in the next week, Allison will be admitted to Children’s Hospital in Little Rock and will remain there until she has heart surgery and recovers. This will put a tremendous strain on her family as the hospital is 150 miles from their home. They only have one income, one car, and another child, Tyler, who has type 1 diabetes. Allison’s mom, Heather, will be staying with Allison while she is in the hospital, which will likely be several months. Her dad and brother will be driving up on the weekends.  We are asking those who can to donate to this Go Fund Me to help this family with extra expenses that they will incur during this time (gas, food, lodging, etc). Any money given over the amount requested will be used for future medical expenses as Allison will need a pacemaker,  liver transplant, and other procedures at some point in her life.
