Veronica Diaz: single mom needs PT

I am raising money for my sister Veronica 39who has been in the hospital since December 21, 2013; diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis, a spinal cord injury that came suddenly and starting with numbing and tingling to the right side of her body.
Veronica is a working single mother of 3 beautiful kids, ages 16,12 and her youngest is only 5! She barely had any warning signs of this illness, but wasn't feeling well enough to go to work. She thought she would feel better in a day or two and be able to return to work. However, within a couple of days, she woke up and was unable to walk.
It has now been 2 months and Veronica's TOTAL prognosis is still unknown, but the treatments so far have been unsuccessful. Based on the sudden occurrence of her symptoms Doctors cannot say if she will ever regain feeling or be able to walk again. In certain cases, patients are able to walk after extended periods of rehabilitation and can take up to 2 years. Her family members all live in Sacramento and Stockton. Her 62 yr old father is primarily helping to care for her children, but she needs a lot more than we can do collectively as a family.
The disease takes 6 weeks to fully develop, and we are hoping it won't continue to spread, although we have recently heard that she was feeling numbness on her tongue and lips. Please pray for Veronica to recover! Please pray for Veronica's children to be strong while they wait anxiously to know when their Mom will come home.
We believe in miracles, and pray that Veronica will be released from the hospital, and will heal one day.
Her employer, Walmart, told Veronica that she needed to call in daily (from the hospital bed, while on medication) in order to keep her job. Of course, they ended up terminating her because she missed too many days of work.
Regardless of her condition, Veronica remains in good spirits and keeps a smile on (at least while we are in the room)! Her positive attitude will be a vital part of her recovery!
We are raising money for Veronica's future needs for in home care and therapy, and for the needs of her children along the way. Also to get her moved into a ground level single story home. We have no clue what the costs will be incurred for these treatments, and chose our goal based on what we think seems reasonable due to the severity of this situation.
