Healing for Lucy

For those of you who have followed Lucy Settle's journey the past few weeks, you've seen that it's a story of facing the unimaginable (an "inoperable" and debilitating tumor inside four-year-old Lucy's spinal cord) but then witnessing God's miracles and mercies (the removal of over half the tumor in a surgery on December 6 and hopeful signs during recovery each day). It's a story that hits close to home, to a family who has been very much a part of our own. And it's a story that is still in the making, as we await the pathology reports and begin Lucy's long rehab to recovery. 

We are asking for new miracles and mercies each day, and as Jonathan and Emily's new routine is settling in, we're getting a better understanding of how we can support them:

First, updates and specific prayer needs can be found on their Caring Bridge site . 

Second, food and childcare needs are being coordinated by family and neighbors. We'll reach out as we need help filling gaps!

And finally, we're seeing how quickly the unexpected bills are piling up. Even with great insurance, the out-of-pocket maxes will be easily reached for both 2019 and 2020, adding up to over $30,000. Unexpected logistical expenses (travel for family, special attire and resources for Lucy, hospital parking and meals...) are also popping up. 

We would love to relieve as much stress as possible for the Settles, giving them the freedom to invest their energy into their family in the months ahead. (We've set the goal here for $20,000 after hitting $10,000 in the first 24 hours - amazing!! - but we'd love to exceed even that!)
