James and Jordan were married in June of 2013. James was enlisted in the Army and stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC. He came home to Washington State to marry Jordan in a whirlwind wedding and raced back to the base to settle down and start their new life together.
Fate had other plans as James was tragically killed today, February 21, 2014. James was only 21 years old. Jordan is 19 and on the other side of the country. She has to start all over again, facing this terrible pain and making another go at life when she's barely an adult.
I am her mother, and while I can offer her all the emotional support I have to give, I can only help so much when it comes to restarting her life.
Many people have asked how they can help. The pain is still too new, too raw. I have no idea where the help will be needed. I can barely think as James was like my own son to me. But for those that want to help, to do something for Jordan, I've opened this gofundme page where donations can be made in James' memory. Any money donated will go toward Jordan starting a new life and getting her feet on the ground as a 19yo widow who has never known what it's like to be alone. Maybe a deposit on an apartment when she's ready. Or some gas while she looks for a job. Cat food for her and James' two rescue cats that they loved like children...
