Hello. My name is Amanda McBride, I am a single mother of 4 Beautiful children. My second oldest son, his name is Jaiden McBride, he is 12 years old but will have his 13th birthday this Sunday, Feb. 23rd:) Unfortunately Jaiden was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in early 2011; at that time he went through 3 very extensive types of chemotherapy, which lasted a year. During that time Jaiden could not attend school & I was left unable to work (I have worked at my job for 9 years, they have been very understanding) we were in the hospital, more than we could be at home. Jaiden was is remission for a period of 18 months. I can honestly say that it was a good 18 months for him; He played basketball, hung out with his friends, attended school, & rode a bike (against my better judgement. but boys will be boys:). In July 2013 Jaiden complained of chest pain. I took him to his Oncologist office where they performed scans & tests. About a week later we found out that the Ostersarcoma returned to Jaidens lung. The doctor said that there wasn't anything that they could do, & he would die from this horrible disease:( He said that we could do Chemo to buy some time, & we did. With rounds of different types of chemotherapy, the spots were growing, & spreading. The spots are in his lungs, liver, brain & various parts of his entire body. At this point, Jaiden is on hospice & I am unable to work. I am adimant about staying home to take care of Jaiden & staying home to make sure my other children are okay. I am a firm believer in God, my trust & faith in Him is #1 in my life. Jaiden is not just my son, as he belongs to Him as well:) I believe that I will not have to worry about bills, & rent because He will deliver. I am not expecting anything. The only thing that I ask for is sincere prayers, a miracle would be amazing! However, Jaiden's comfort, and trust in God is all that I worry about at times.
