Do you believe in freedom to elect your political representatives to government, as a citizen of a sovereign nation? If so, please help our cause to fundraise in order to obtain legal representation to file a lawsuit against our own government, Nitijela, the governing entity of our beloved Republic of the Marshall Islands – a democratic country.
In 2016, Nitijela passed Bill No. 6 (BN6) – terminating absentee voting by its citizens residing abroad. Main reasons were based on fraud charges, slowness of tabulation process, and because Marshallese abroad should not have any say to whatever is happening in our beloved country. What? Even though our constitution states otherwise, we don’t have a say?
Regardless of a letter of concern by the Council of Iroij (cultural entity) and other influential leaders to reconsider the bill, because there could be ways to resolve these concerns, Nitijela, passed the Bill. Who is to protect our vulnerable families residing back home? Who has money to spend $3000k to fly home just to cast a vote? Republic of the Marshall Islands is a democratic nation! Democracy does not hinder nor does it support any barriers to Freedom! Freedom to choose those who can be our voice! WE - ARE MARSHALLESE – LET OUR VOICE BE HEARD!
