Simon’s 50k For Emily Chesson

Donation protected
Simon Baggs from Hit106.9 Nick, Jess and Simon’s breakfast show is set to put his body on the line once again in the name of charity. On Friday 29th March, Simon will embark on a 50km journey from Williamtown to Wallsend. Beginning at Williamtown McDonald’s, he will make his way along the beach line to Stockton where he will kayak over to Queens Wharf Hotel, before finishing the walk at McDonald’s Wallsend. All of this will be done in the spirit of raising money for Wallsend local, 11 year old Emily Chesson. Last September, Emily was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. Doctors were able to remove a large portion of Emily’s tumour but unfortunately complications during surgery resulted in Emily having some significant disabilities. Emily is now paralysed down the left side of her body, resulting in her being wheelchair bound. Emily’s life has been turned upside down since her diagnosis, which has heavily impacted her family physically, emotionally and financially. The family home has recently finished the required renovations needed to accommodate Emily’s new lifestyle, however the family car is no longer suitable due to her wheelchair. We want to raise as much money as we can to help Emily and her family to get back to living a normal life.
