Diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Hi! My name is Bronwen. I was diagnosed with AML on October 30th 2021. Learning about this aggressive cancer and that the average expected survival rate is a 20% probability after 2 years has been devastating. 

I live 50 km from Sunnybrook Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital in downtown Toronto where I must go for treatment. There is no transportation available for me except The Wheels of Hope which only offers 2 drives a week if I book 5 days in advance which is difficult because I usually don't know my treatment schedule until a couple of days ahead.  

So my sister has been off work caring for me on the government's Caregiver Leave but has yet to receive any money. I'm on CPP Disability which pays $850 a month. I've sold my car and we've been selling possessions to stay afloat.

Medications are not fully covered by the Trillium Health Benefit so I must pay out of pocket. I feel such a burden to my sister and know that no other financisl support is offered from any organization for families going through such an illness that is beyond their control. 

Any financial assistance would he greatly appreciated. Gas, parking at the hospitals, household bills, medications and groceries have caused us to be in debt. If I'm unable to survive this illness, I do not want my sister to be left with this debt and my funeral costs.
