Adi hat sein Stipendium und seine familiäre Supportstruktur verloren, weil er trans* ist. In seinem Heimatland in Südostasien wird er deswegen ausgeschlossen und marginalisiert. Adi promoviert an einer deutschen Universität und möchte endlich vollständig in seiner Identität leben. Seine behördlichen Dokumente hat er für viel Geld in seinem Heimatland anpassen lassen. Als seine Stiftung davon erfuhr, wurde ihm schlagartig das Stipendium entzogen; zudem soll er Geld an die Stiftung zurückzahlen. Seine Promotion steht kurz vor dem Abschluss. Nun braucht er finanzielle Unterstützung. In seinem Heimatland kann er darauf nicht hoffen und auch in Deutschland fällt er durchs System. Transfeindlichkeit ist fest in den deutschen bürokratischen Strukturen verankert, genau wie Rassismus. Von beiden Diskriminierungsformen ist Adi betroffen.

Juni ist Pride Month. Viele Menschen und Instututionen positionieren sich derzeitig für die Rechte von LGBTIQ-Personen. Vieles passiert dabei digital aber Menschen, wie z.B. Adi, brauchen auch ganz reale Unterstützung. Adi könnt Ihr helfen, in dem ihr ihm Geld spendet, um ihm seine finanzielle Last zu nehmen. Das würde ihm ungemein helfen!

Dieser Aufruf richtet sich vor allem an - finanziell - privilegierte cis-Personen. Teilt Eure Privilegien und unterstützt Adi dabei, seine Transition zu beenden und erfolgreich weiter zu promovieren. Es kann nicht sein, dass schon wieder eine trans*Person durch das rassistische und transfeindliche System in Deutschland fällt. Hier noch eine Nachricht von Adi persönlich:

“Thank you so much, for all the support with this fundraiser. That makes me feel a lot better in this difficult position. My top objective is to be on my feet again (financially and medically) as soon as possible and to keep being able to pay my insurance and my flat. With all of my savings I had to pay the lawyer for the court case and the traveling costs all in all 7000,- € in order to change my official documents in my home country, cause Germany wouldn’t allow me to do it here. Now I am in danger of getting into debts and I need to concentrate on finishing my PhD and on the final operations for my transition.

Thank you a lot for considering to donate to my cause. Please pray for me and my well-being. This is such a hard moment for me, but I have hope because people made this fundraiser and have been there for me in this difficult time.”

[Übersetzung: Vielen Dank, für die ganze Unterstützung bei dieser Spendenaktion. Dadurch fühle ich mich in dieser schwierigen Lage gleich viel besser. Mein oberstes Ziel ist es, so schnell wie möglich wieder auf die Beine zu kommen (finanziell und medizinisch) und meine Versicherung und meine Wohnung weiter bezahlen zu können. Mit all meinen Ersparnissen musste ich den Anwalt für das Gerichtsverfahren und die Reisekosten bezahlen, alles in allem 7000,- €, um meine offiziellen Dokumente in meinem Heimatland zu ändern, weil Deutschland mir das hier nicht erlauben würde. Jetzt bin ich in Gefahr, mich zu verschulden und ich muss mich auf die Beendigung meiner Promotion und auf die letzten Operationen für meinen Übergang konzentrieren.

Adi lost his scholarship and his family support structure because he is trans*. In his home country in Southeast Asia, he is excluded and marginalized because of this. Adi is doing a PhD at a German university and finally wants to live fully in his identity. He had his official documents adapted for a lot of money in his home country. When his foundation found out about this, his scholarship was abruptly withdrawn; he is also supposed to pay money back to the foundation. His doctorate is about to be completed. Now he needs financial support. In his home country he cannot hope for it and in Germany he also falls through the system. Transphobia is firmly anchored in German bureaucratic structures, just like racism. Adi is affected by both forms of discrimination.

June is Pride Month. Many people and institutions are currently positioning themselves for the rights of LGBTIQ people. Many things are happening digitally, but people like Adi need real support. You can help Adi by donating money to take away his financial burden. That would help him immensely!

This appeal is especially for - financially - privileged cis-persons. Share your privileges and support Adi to finish his transition and successfully continue his PhD. It can't be that again a trans* person falls through the racist and trans-hostile system in Germany. Here is another message from Adi personally:

Ten percent of the donations, in agreement with Adi, will go to Beyond Color, an organization in Munich.
