After the death of my son, a concept started building inside of me. I want to open a place for kids here in the Tri-cities to come have fun but also learn life skills. Some of the things we plan to offer is first off and formost a clean and sober club for the kids to come dance and sing. We would hope that a 12 step program would find us as a good place to call home. Additionally we want to offer art, gardening, cooking, a studio for bands to play as loud as they want (a few things mentioned by the kids). We would ask friends and volunteers from the comunity to come demonstrate their skills and abilities sharing these skills with the kids. Our concept is watch it and do it...... but really just do it.
We want to reach out to the youth and find out what they want and need to help them be successful and have fun.
I additionally resolve that if our club does not come to be all funds will be returned to their source. We are not looking to make any money off of this but just help the youth out there.
My son went from couch to couch..... lost and misguided. Hence the name Cushions, a soft place to call home. I think websters explains it all!
Evidently the site automaticly creates a monetary goal. I want to make it perfectly clear that money is NOT our goal but helping the kids is. Any donation would be appreciated even if all you can give is time.
