Battling Breast Cancer
Donation protected
This is my mother, Sherry.
After almost a year of having hip pain and multiple appointments with chiropractors, doctors and at imaging centers she had a PET scan. It was not until after the PET scan that we realized the hip pain may be cancer.
The PET scan showed a "hot spot" in her left armpit and multiple other "hot spots". She had a biopsy done and after more imaging and the biopsy we were told it is stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized. We were told it had moved from the breast to the collar bone, spine, lung and hip. The news understandably overwhelmed my Mother.
In 2018 it is surreal to hear doctors tell you "there is nothing we can do" and "You can sign up for this trial and that trial" but no real solutions, no option of radiation or chemo. With a bleak prognosis my Mother began to feel downhearted.
Then, the research began.
My Mother's fighting spirit came to life. She is holding fast to the word of God, to healing herself holistically, to maintaining optimism. My Mom is my best friend, she is a great mother and an even better Grandmama. She is kind, forgiving, strong and ready for the fight of her life.
The main treatment option my Mother is interested in, is stem cell therapy. We have researched clinics that offer stem cell through Wharton's jelly from the placenta versus embryonic stem cells. This treatment option is on average, a cost of $5000.00. We are also looking into functional medicine doctors, both of which are not covered by her insurance.
Every single share of this campaign, every single penny, every single word of encouragement and every single prayer helps. We appreciate everyone who has taken the time to read this, to share and to help us fight this battle. Thank you all.
