Help for the Cooley Girl's Medical Costs
On Monday morning February 10, 2014 we were on our way to NCTC, which is the college we attend, in Gainesville,TX. I, Kendra, was driving our ranger, Kelsey was in the passenger seat and Melisa was in the back seat. We were about 4 minutes away when the accident happened. We were going over a overpass and right at the end of it we hit black ice and the truck turned sideways, there was no time to process what was happening and before we knew it the truck was rolling down a 50 foot embankment. When the truck finally stopped I, the driver, was able to get out. I called 911 after checking on my sister Kelsey and best friend Melisa. It took the jaws of life to get them out of the truck. Kelsey and I were taken in one ambulance to Wilson N Jones. On the way there we each received an IV and given an injection of pain killer. When arriving at the hospital Kelsey was taken to get x-rays which later showed a broken sternum. Kelseys total injuries include: a broken sternum, compression fractures in her back, contusions to her lung, a cut up ear which needed stitches and a swollen face. I then had x-rays taken which showed nothing was broke but it sure felt like it. My injures included a vey sore back and left shoulder which I have been hardly able to move. I was released after only being in the hospital a few hours but my sister will be staying until Friday the 14th at least. Unfortunately we don't have medical insurance to cover the costs.
