Genital Autonomy is a charity working to protect male, female and intersex children from unnecessary genital surgery using the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child as our yardstick.
We will be holding a three day international symposium in Boulder, Colorado in July with 40+ speakers who are expects in their field.
The symposium will cover law, medicine and human rights. We have several expert speakers from Australia, Israel, Finland, Germany and Belgium amongst other places whose presentations would be a vital contribution to the event.
Our allocated budget is insufficient to cover the full costs of their travel and accommodation. We need to raise an additional $8,600 to ensure we can include all of these quality presenters.
These speakers will be talking about the situation in Indonesia, Malaysia, Israel, and several countries in Africa as well as the US and Europe. They have expertise not available within our current circle of speakers.
Following recent developments in Europe we hope that this event will lead to further progress in our aim to protect children from unnecessary genital surgery.
