The Kiera family learned on February 11th that 16 month old Scarlett Rae has cancer.  A team from Oishei Childrens Hospital and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center was able to determine what started as a small lump on her forearm and quickly grew, is an aggressive form of cancer called alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma.  Scarlett has undergone batteries of tests, biopsies and scans.  Scarlett had a port installed in her chest and began chemotherapy on March 2.
 



While the pathway and timeline to victory for Scarlett is largely dependent on how her little body and the cancer responds to chemo, we are confident with the support of the best medical professionals in the country, her family, friends and loved ones Scarlett will win this battle.   

In this short period of time medical bills have already begun to build and Scarlett has barely begun down the road to victory.  Both Mandy and Jason have had to take extensive time off to attend medical appointments and care for Scarlett.  All contributions are greatly appreciated and will help to alleviate any financial burdens during this difficult time.
