My baby girl has been my hardy best friend since I rescued her 10 years ago. She is my love. She suffered a sudden acute pancreatitis attack and aggressive measures were taken to save her life.
A rushed nasal gastric tube for feeding did more harm than good. They asked me to choose between Do Not Resuscitate and CPR. They asked for my credit card.
They released us as "doing well," but we are getting daily subcutaneous antibiotics, nausea meds, and sodium from my regular vet. My normally voracious eater ("Beggin' Megan") still will not even lick food. My bill this week was $4300.00.
I live off Social Security but will do whatever it takes to make my girl well. I'm hoping the many I have donated to through the years will consider a contribution.
We went on to the next animal ER the following weekend. They took good care of her and let me sleep on the floor with her on blankets. They even washed my shirts! The 10 day stretch cost about $6500.00. She is too good to do any less for.
