Hi Everyone!


My name is Anna Grieb. I am an ordinary 24 year old graduate student with hopes and drive to bring change. I will obtain my Masters of Social Work this May at Virginia Commonwealth University. I have the desire to be a change agent and empower at the community-level. Through my education, multiple internships in the human service field, faith, and real life experiences, I have developed my values and ideals. These developed values and ideals guide me to what I want to represent as a practicing social worker, leader, and person. I stand for being proactive, preventive, and collaborative when implementing goals and services. I stand with my church's mission to love beyond reason. I stand for the core values of social work; service, dignity and worth of the person, integrity, competence, importance of human relationships, and social justice.


I am in the middle of a long journey to find out what I want to do in this moment of my life and the upcoming future. This has led me to know more than ever what my heart truly has been searching for:..Truth and Love.
After a couple of years of being scared to let Him in fully, I broke down my selfishness and barriers on a mission trip to Africa. I become vulnerable to knowing myself through God. That was almost three years ago. Ever since then, I am letting God transform me. It is scary, amazing, and filled with a happiness I cannot describe. My heart is full of something that I never want to deny again.
Again, thank you so much to everyone one who supported my trip to Africa!


God is challenging me to take another journey this June. God has poked at my heart multiple times during the church's announcements of this upcoming Vietnam trip. God saying "Why are you waiting?:What are doing?::..I am here:GO!" I am striving to participant and not anticipate. This gift of life here on this earth is switching focus for me. I am gradually transforming my perspective of what is really important. My focus is a lot more of these thoughts becoming actions. I feel like I have found the ultimate dollar jackpot. I am learning to listen to our God's heart and taking action.


I am an ordinary person that is able to glorify Him in the life He has given me. He wants to walk beside me. I am challenging myself every day to love every single person as God does.


Soooooooo I have exciting news to share with you! Since 2008 my church, the Area 10 Faith Community, has committed to help reach the people of Vietnam with the good news of Jesus. This summer, I have the incredible opportunity to go to Hanoi, Vietnam and serve the children at the SS3 Orphanage. We'll do some improvements at their compound then take the children to the beach at Do Son and lead a camp/getaway for them. It's a great way to build relationship with the children and staff and is part of a long term commitment with this orphanage. We pray that year after year out time with them will have a positive impact and bring the hope of Christ into their lives. I will be updating my blog bi-monthly through this experience!


In order to make this possible, I need to assemble a Sponsorship Team-comprised of people like you who can sponsor me financially and pray for my team daily. The funds raised will not only cover the team's travel and lodging expenses but also cover the children, staff and interpreters. This comes to about $3,000 per team member.
I hope that you will pray about giving financially to sponsor our team. The trip dates are June 15-23, 2014 and we need to have our fundraising completed by May 15.
