Melissa Emery's Transportation Costs

Melissa Emery is a self employed electrical contractor. She went into the hospital in December and had 4 surgeries in less than 6 weeks. She is currently in the University of Kansas Hospital and will go to a long term rehabilitation facility upon release.

Melissa has no medical insurance and has applied for disability and Medicaid. She was diagnosed with vasculitis/arteritis that resulted in malnuitrition and severe weight loss. She will require a lifetime of medical care.

Our goal is to raise $6,500.00 to cover the cost of her transport to the rehabilitation facility and to provide her with a few comforts until she receives disability. At this time the hospital Melissa is in, is 2 hours away and makes visiting her limited. We want to get her closer to the home she will live in when she is able to be released.

Her road to recovery is going to be a long, rough one and she will never be able to return to her previous work.  It's going to be a big adjustment for her.
