Hope's Study Abroad in Scotland

When I was young, I remember gazing at the giant rotating globe in my Grandma Dilts' living room in awe. At the time, I could cover all of the places I had traveled with just the tip of my finger. When I got older, I saw more of the U.S. in my family travels, but even then, I knew that I needed to not only see more, but explore it.

In my 23 years of life, I've visited 21 states (though my goal is to see all 50). I've been blessed enough to spend two weeks in Uganda, and even had the fortune of visiting London for a day on layover. Every land I explore, every culture I experience, and every person I encounter along the way has continued to shape the person I am today.
Anything you are able to give between now and my departure is an incredible blessing to me. I consider myself fortunate to have the opportunity to study in Scotland for 6 weeks, and for having already received $4000 in scholarships. My trip is from June 3 - July 27, and I couldn't be more grateful for the support I'm being shown.

I recently revisited that globe in my grandma's living room and noticed my cousin's 5 year old daughter gazing at it in awe. I pointed out to her on the map where we were in the tiny area of northern Indiana, and saw a look in her eye as she tried to wrap her mind around just how much of the world she has yet to see. "You've got plenty of time," I said. "The world is yours to explore."
