Krista's Mission Trip to South Africa

I'm writing to tell you about an exciting opportunity I have coming up this Spring. In April, my church is going to be sending a group of members to South Africa. We will be going to the town Badplaas to work with an organization called Emoyeni that helps orphans who have lost their parents primarily to AIDS. Emoyeni works closely with Childrens Cup that feeds 1,000 children daily. Just in Badplaas, there are currently about 250 orphans needing food and shelter. Emoyeni is working on a building project that will be providing a village atmosphere for raising the local children.
Over the past year I've been hearing about Emoyeni's goals and all they've already done to help the children that have been left with no family members to care for them. This has made me want to become involved. Our team is planning on spending two weeks in Badplaas helping with administrative duties, construction and childcare. I will be most involved in childcare while I'm there.
In order to participate in the upcoming trip, I will need to raise about $3000 by April 1st. I will be raising these funds in several ways. A large part, though, will be through generous donations from loved ones like you. A donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated and will help make a difference in my life and in the lives of those I am going to help. Whether or not you're able to give at this time please pray for me as I prepare for the trip. I'll also be sending a follow up letter on how it went when I get back.
