am a sophomore at Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and I have
been nominated to represent my school and community at the National Young
Leaders Conference in Washington, DC on June 15, 2014.
By attending the National Young Leaders Conference: Skills in Leadership for Change, I will join other motivated students from around the country for an experiential leadership and career exploration program. I will have the opportunity to spend 11 days interacting with the nation's leadership, attending Congress, visiting top Universities and working with my peers to solve problems and learn about leadership. As you can see, this will be a powerful experience, enabling me to interact with respected professionals in various fields while building relationships with students who will be my future colleagues.
Attending this program will enable me to further my interest in the field of Political Communications and reach my career goals of becoming a Public Servant. At Catholic High School, I have maintained a 3.71 GPA this year and am involved in track, choir, the Youth and Government Club, and the French Club. This program is the next step in my two year progress of being named Governor among my eighth grade class in the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge's Youth Legislature, and being nominated for, and attending, the National Young Leaders State Conference in Mobile, Alabama last summer. I am looking forward to furthering my leadership skills on a national stage and am extremely honored to have been selected to attend.
As part of the program, like elected officials, I am expected to fundraise for support in order to reach my goal of representing my region while in Washington, D.C. Your financial support represents a vote of confidence in me. I sincerely appreciate your contribution to my future success!
