TURKEY EARTHQUAKE HELP FUND

Hi, my name is Senem and I am raising funds to help people suffering from the recent earthquake in Turkey. Unfortunately, I experienced the 1999 earthquake myself and lost many loved ones and I know how important receiving any help during this terrible period is.

On February 6, 2023, two earthquakes of magnitudes 7.8 and 7.5 hit central Turkey and Syria, affecting nearby countries and many cities where some 15 million people live. Many people either lost their lives or are still under the rubble, and thousands were left homeless in cold weather conditions or cannot enter their homes. My friends and their families are rescued from the rubble but they don't have homes anymore and no electricity. One of my friends and other survivors managed to rescue three babies from a demolished building. There are a lot of stories like these unfortunately and it is incredibly hard to comprehend the pain.

Search and rescue teams are still doing their work in the region. There is an urgent need for food, water, shelter, warm clothes, medicine and field hospitals, energy generators. All funds raised will be transparently transferred to Ahbap Derneği a Turkish non-governmental charity which has been working in the region since day 1. They seem to be more organised than the govermental organisation AFAD and more transparent in what they do hence my choice.
