WE NEED TO MOVE TO THE SANCTUARY
We have found a place of around 10,000 m2, ideal to be able to move our Sanctuary. The place is being sold for $ 15,000.00, but we have decided to make a first collection of $ 10,000.00 to start the purchase process and then we will do another one of $ 10,000.00 more in order to finish paying and be able to make some adjustments to the space. The current place is collapsing and we no longer have a perimeter wall and our rescued dogs go out onto the public street. The structure is cracking, not to mention that we have never had running water, we must pay a water cistern every 20 days, for more than 5 years we have not had electricity, every day the fight is titanic!
We are a Foundation dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and reintegration of urban animals, we mainly work with stray dogs and cats, today we have under our care, more than 300 animals including cats and dogs.
Santuario Luna Foundation, born many years ago…. It comes from a home values, respecting nature and feeling part of it. A little over 12 years ago, we started with our first rescued in this space, Albert. It is a large dog of about 35 kilos approximately, we are looking for a place in the community to protect it. So step by step, we were adding members to the shelter and we were taking more community spaces that were abandoned or used to drugs traffic.
Obtaining the space that we occupy today, was a struggle with the cultural level of the people, but we did it. An old sports center that has an edge problems and is in an area where the mountain fallout, for this reason they stopped exercising and practicing sports there, fortunately we managed to recover the space to carry out a social work.
In 2016 we already saw a tough future for the sanctuary, that is when we decided to create the SANTUARIO LUNA FOUNDATION, so that we could have a legal figure assured where to go when our salaries were not enough to support the shelter
Nowadays, this space does not have the minimum conditions to continue advancing with our work, due to the lack of continuity of the perimeter wall, the dogs run away to the street and we have had fellow dogs that have hit by a car and died (3 cases), for this same reason. They have entered twice to steal food and medicine, fortunately they have not killed any dog or cat.
Today we feel that we must move forward on our path, we have already learned a lot about veterinary medicine, and veterinary emergency care with dogs and cats, we provide veterinary assistance and first aid to nearby communities and work with independent protectionists to care for their animals and neutered them .
We want to have a safe, adequate space where we can have our shelter and be able to add more and begin to have a greater social impact in our country, we seek to change that mentality where we feel separated from our nature, we feel different, superior being.
This is why we have decided to start this fundraising to be able to move the Sanctuary to a more adequate space that has electricity and running water, where we can build a space for rehabilitation, medical care, recreation and a home for our shelter, for many animals in street situations. A space where we can create sensitivity in the community, a space where new veterinary students and doctors can have contact with other aspects beyond the clinic, a space of love and respect for our peers.

NECESITAMOS MUDAR AL SANTUARIO
Hemos conseguido un terreno de alrededor de 10.000 m2, ideal para poder lograr mudar nuestro Santuario. El lugar lo están vendiendo en $15.000,00, pero hemos decidido hacer una primera recaudación de $10.000,00 para iniciar el proceso de compra y luego haremos otra de $10.000,00 más con el objetivo de terminar de pagar y poder realizar unas adecuaciones al espacio . El terreno actual, está cediendo y ya no tenemos muro perimetral y nuestro rescatados se salen a la calle pública. ¡La estructura está presentando grietas, sin contar que nunca hemos tenido agua de la calle, debemos pagar una cisterna de agua cada 20 días, desde hace más de 5 años no tenemos servicio eléctrico, cada día la lucha es titánica!
Somos una Fundación dedicada al rescate, rehabilitación y reinserción de fauna urbana, principalmente trabajamos con perros y gatos callejeros, hoy en día tenemos bajo nuestro cuidado, más de 300 animales entre perros y gatos.
Santuario Luna, nace hace muchos años atrás…. viene desde una enseñanza de casa, respetar a la naturaleza y sentirnos parte de ella. Hace un poco más de 12 años, comenzamos con nuestro primer rescatado en este espacio, Albert. Es un perro grande de unos 35 kilos aproximadamente, buscamos un lugar de la comunidad para resguardarlo. Así poco a poco fuimos agregando integrantes a la manada y fuimos tomando más espacios comunitarios que estaban abandonados o eran usados para traficar drogas.
Obtener el espacio que hoy ocupamos fue una lucha con el nivel cultural de las personas, pero lo logramos. Un antiguo polideportivo que tiene una falla de borde y está en una zona donde la montaña se mueve, por este motivo dejaron de hacer ejercicios y practicar deporte en el lugar, afortunadamente logramos recuperar el espacio para realizar una obra social.
En el año 2016 ya veíamos un futuro duro para el santuario, es cuando decidimos crear la FUNDACIÓN SANTUARIO LUNA, así poder tener asegurado una figura legal a dónde acudir cuando nuestros salarios no fuesen suficientes para mantener a la manada.
Hoy en día este espacio no tiene la condiciones mínimas para seguir avanzando con nuestro trabajo, por la falta de la continuidad del muro perimetral los perros se escapan a la calle y hemos tenido compañeros perrunos que no los han matado por arrollamiento, por esta misma razón han entrado en 2 ocasiones a robarnos alimentos y medicinas, afortunadamente no han matado a ningún perro o gato.
Hoy en día sentimos que debemos avanzar en nuestro camino, ya hemos aprendido mucho sobre medicina veterinaria, y atención de emergencias veterinarias con perro y gatos, brindamos asistencia y primeros auxilios veterinarios a las comunidades cercanas y trabajamos con proteccionistas independientes para atender sus animales y esterilizarlos.
Queremos tener un espacio seguro, adecuado donde podamos tener a nuestros protegidos y poder tener la posibilidad de sumar más y comenzar a tener un mayor impacto social en nuestro país, buscamos cambiar esa mentalidad donde nos sentimos separados de nuestra naturaleza, nos sentimos diferentes, superiores.
Es por esto que hemos decidido comenzar esta recaudación de fondos para poder mudar al Santuario a un espacio más adecuado y que tenga servicio eléctrico y agua donde podamos construir un espacio para la rehabilitación, atención médica, esparcimiento y tal vez un hogar dentro de una gran manada, para muchos animales en situación de calle. Un espacio donde podamos crear sensibilidad en la comunidad, un espacio donde los nuevos estudiantes y médicos veterinarios puedan tener contacto con otros aspectos más allá de la clínica, un espacio de amor y respeto para con nuestros iguales.
