Bella is the 13 year old daughter of my coworker/boss and beloved friend. Many of you knew her grandmother that started Lighthouse Bakery on DI, Alabama. Bella started having headaches everyday and sleeping long uncommon hours that would be concerning to anyone. After having MRI’s and scans it was revealed that there is a tumor rapidly growing on the pineal gland in the center of her brain. As the growth continues other issues have come up and Bella has had to miss many days of school, luckily her teachers have been very understanding.
Bella’s family has had to seek out medical advice outside of our state due to the nature of the tumor and have found a specialist in South Carolina. If the surgery is approved by insurance the minimum out-of-pocket expenses, plus travel and a few weeks off work for parents during recovery, for the family will be $25,000 after insurance. Please help me support this amazing family as they have supported our community for the past several decades.

We had an appointment on the phone with the specialist in South Carolina. She wants to move forward with surgery. They will call to schedule as soon as they have approval. But she does recommend the surgery, she showed us how different parts of the brain are compressed and deformed by the pressure of the growth which is causing her issues. They will do new MRI scans there with their machines before surgery. This is really happening and I'm so thankful for direct guidance and informative answers. Now the wait continues along with our prayers. God is answering our prayers each day and guiding us closer to the future He has for us and our Bella. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support! Please pray with us that insurance will be quickly accepted so we can know more of what to expect and move forward to getting Bella closer to recovery. ❤ We are so thankful to be working with one of the best Surgeons in the country with some of the newest technologies! However brain surgery is indeed intimidating and scary, we will keep our eyes on the Cross and trust in Jesus's name.
