Cindy Cook Piddock Medical Relief
Donation protected
In July Cindy went to the doctor because of a sore on her tongue, he immediatly sent her to an oral surgeon, who in turn sent her to an ENT. The ENT scheduled surgery for a biopsy or possible removal the following Wednesday. After he did the surgery, he realized that it was most likely cancer and set her up with a surgeon from MUSC (Medial University of South Carolina) in Charleston SC the following week. The pathology report came back in the mean time that it was in fact tongue cancer. At that time the appointments, scans, blood work, and tests started. We were traveling to MUSC an average of 2-3 times per week. Cindy had infusions every 2 weeks plus lots of blood work and scans up until September 21st when she had her surgery. She is now undergoing radiation treatments 5 days a week for the next 6 weeks. Her last teatment will be December 13th, and she will return to her doctor in Charleston on January 8. This has caused a great hardship on her with all the trips to the hospital (288 mile round trip), the surgeries, gas, hotel & food expenses and being off work for such an extended amount of time. Her time off from work is depleted, so there will be no pay check until she is able to return to work. So any donations will be greatly appreciated during this difficult time.
