A Year In Cape Town, South Africa

Hello All
I am an undergraduate student at Belmont University. I graduate May 3, 2014 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting with a minor in Chinese. The service of others has been a major part of my life. I love the opportunity to become a blessing in the lives of others. If I could spend my whole life volunteering, I would.

I have been afforded the opportunity to Intern in Cape Town, South Africa for a year. I will be split between to intern positions. The first position will be with The Happy Africa Foundation. I will be developing the charity, working with charitable funds, and creating awareness campaigns. I will also be working with The Happy Africa Foundation’s feeding program in the townships; working to feed the children in the townships. The second position will be with African Impact. I will be the marketing intern for this location. A few of my responsibilities will be to conduct marketing research and compile reports, help create marketing documents and brochures, and social media content planning.


This position is truly a dream come true. The motto I have held firm to in my life is to be the change I want to see in the world. I have been blessed to travel the world in my studies and see the needs that are facing the people of this world. With every day and every technological advancement the world becomes a smaller place. We are responsible for uplifting everybody through their hard times in our own communities and throughout the world. I want to use my skills and passion, that I have used to benefit my community, to uplift the townships in Cape Town, South Africa.

This a great opportunity for me to follow my dreams; however, it is an unpaid position. I will have to fund my whole trip through fundraising. I am asking my family and friends to contribute to helping me make a change and touch the lives of others. Any amount is appreciated and greatly needed. I am thankful for all of the support and love everybody has shown me and I want to thank you in advance for supporting now.
