Helping Caleb towards a healthy heart

Caleb Leonard Bowen, was born with Transposition of Great Arteries, VSD and Aortic Arch Hypoplasia. TGA changes the way blood circulates through the body, leaving a shortage of oxygen in the blood flowing from the heart to the rest of the body. VSD is holes in the wall that separates the right and left ventricles of the heart and AAH is when the left side of the heart is underdeveloped. Caleb spent the first 3 weeks of his life at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. At 12 days old he had his first of many heart surgeries. His on going routine care consists of Sedated EKG, Echocardiogram, Holter Monitor, Stress Testing, MRI's and Catheterizations. Caleb is scheduled for open heart surgery on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Texas Children's Hospital. The surgical team will not be able to tell us how they will start the process until his heart is actually in their hands. Caleb will have to undergo more open heart surgery has he grows to replace all the man made parts. If all the attempts to try to give him a healthy heart fails, this will lead to a possible heart tranaplant. His medical bills are outrageous, and we were praying to be able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House but all the rooms are full so they will be living at the Best Western Medical Center Hotel which is going to be a huge expense that we were not planning on. It seems like Caleb's family takes one step forward and two steps back. Any donations that can be made will help go towards his many medical expenses the family has and will be facing.
