Miss TEEN NY Pageant SVCSD Student

FROM CATHERINE: I'm participating in the Miss TEEN New York Pageant this weekend at SUNY Purchase. I've been preparing and traveling for this event since last Spring. I've never done anything like this before and I am nervous but excited! I start Friday with an interview in front of 5-7 judges. Then Saturday is the pageant with the opening number(yes we all have to dance on stage during which time we are all introduced), then the fitness round( meaning we wear fitness clothing/no bathing suit competition for the Miss Teen contestants), then evening gown section. Sunday they announce semifinalists and then the winners. Prizes include scholarship money. It is going to be a very busy weekend! This pageant required me to raise $1500 from sponsors to cover my housing, food, transportation between the hotel and SUNY PURCHASE(which they provide all this weekend) and the overall costs of participating. I also needed to purchase clothing, and shoes, and there are travel costs associated with this endeavor. My previous campaign came up short, but I'm reaching out one more time to update everyone and again ask for any donations toward these expenses that anyone may be inclined to make.
