Please consider donating to this sweet family. There is no donation too small... On Tuesday, January 28, the doctors found a large mass on Maylin's liver. They also discovered that she was very low in iron. That night they gave her a blood transfusion to increase her iron levels. The following day they performed a biopsy on the mass. Today, Friday January 31, the doctors confirmed Tara and Jake's greatest fear; Maylin has stage 3 pediatric liver cancer known as hepatoblastoma. Although the original plan was to try to remove half of the tumor and then shrink the rest with chemo, as of today, the doctor is going to go ahead with and begin the chemo tomorrow for this sweet baby. The doctors are worried that the tumor is too big and Maylin may require a liver transplant. We are all praying for a miracle for the chemotherapy to shrink the tumor enough in order for it to be removed without requiring the transplant.
