HELP IF YOU CAN!
Wednesday morning I checked Facebook to see that my dear neighbors Joe and Mary Spencer had just posted the following: Gordon Spencer called me early this morning. They recently moved to Fairbanks Alaska to attend college. They are 2 hours earlier than we are here, so it was a bit strange. His apartment building is on fire. He called back a few minutes later to let me know that the roof collapsed and everything Gordon and Amanda Oliphant Spencer own has been destroyed. School books, computers, wedding rings, clothes, food... it's all gone.
They are both safe, that's the most important thing. Amanda took her phone, but Gordon's is gone now as well. Gordon's feet are all cut up as he didn't even have the chance to grab shoes. So they are in Alaska without anything as they had just spent their last 200.00 on groceries a couple days before.
Looks like they are having quite an opportunity for growth in their first six months of marriage... They will make it.
Seeing this made my neighborhood want to help out. I figure if we all could give a little even 5.00 it will add up and help this young couple through this horrible experience. All of the money donated will then be put into their account.
